2004 Col Solare Red Wine Blend

“Aromas of cherry, black cherry and black currant fruits fuse with smooth notes of vanilla, clove, and tobacco. Rich and balanced on the palate, this wine finishes with long, lingering flavors of cocoa, black currant, and vanilla.”

The 2004 growing season started out with a very early, warm and dry spring. Bud break occurred about a week ahead of schedule. Bloom was marked with average temperatures and continued dry weather. By summer the valley was very warm leading into late July and early August, with near record high temperatures. Average temperatures prevailed through harvest with significant precipitation well into October. Ripening began in early August and red harvest commenced in mid-September.
